The Feast of the Epiphany celebrates the revelation of Christ to the Gentiles, embodied by the visit of the Magi to the infant Jesus. This moment signifies the expansive and inclusive nature of God’s love—a love not confined to one nation or people but extended to all humanity. Today, Epiphany reminds us of our calling as followers of Christ to reflect this universal love in our lives. Just as the Magi journeyed across great distances to seek the light of Christ, we too are invited to embark on spiritual journeys, seeking to encounter Christ in our everyday lives and in the lives of others.

In a world often marked by division, Epiphany challenges us at St. Matthias to be bearers of the light of Christ, bridging gaps and extending hospitality to the stranger. The Magi’s story also teaches us to respond with generosity and humility when we encounter God’s presence in unexpected places. As we discern the meaning of Christ’s manifestation in our own lives, we are reminded that we, like the Magi, have gifts to offer. These gifts are not just material but include our time, talents, and love, which we are called to dedicate to the service of God’s kingdom. Epiphany invites us to shine as lights in the world, reflecting the grace and glory of God in our communities and beyond.
