We had a joyous and Holy Spirit filled Easter Worship celebration. We started with the children flowering the cross to start the service. The kids also had a great time finding all the Easter eggs. You can see everyone in the photo having a glorious time. We had 6 adults, 4 kids and 3 dogs on our float for the Natalia Bluebonnet parade. Parade watchers received an assortment of goodies our folks tossed out. A couple of days later we held a solar eclipse viewing event with food, games, and fun. Our new movie theater size popcorn machine was a big hit.
Our inquirer’s class starts April 28th. Anyone who’s interested in learning more about the Episcopal faith is invited to join us after the Sunday worship service either in person or online. Just let me know. After the classes, anyone wishing to become an Episcopalian will be confirmed or received by Bishop Read. We only have 7 weeks until Bishop Read’s first visit to St. Matthias on Father’s Day, June 16th.
We’ll celebrate Cinco de Mayo next Sunday, May 5th. Everyone is encouraged to bring your favorite Hispanic dish to share in the after-service potluck.
I want to thank our Bishop’s Warden who led Morning Prayer so I could serve as a Chaplain with the Diocesan Nails and Prayers ministry at Camp Capers. I’m really excited about the ideas Hector has for bringing our online services, which are great, to the next level. We’re looking forward to where the Holy Spirit will lead us next!
