I pray everyone is having a joyous and Merry Christmas. We continue to attract new parishioners and have seen some long-term folks return. I want to thank everyone who submitted pledge cards for 2022. The pledges will help the Bishop’s Committee plan our 2022 budget that we will present for your approval at our Annual Meeting and dinner January 16th. We will share our accomplishments for 2021 & plans for 2022. There’s still time if you haven’t submitted your 2022 pledge. We hope you can join us on this special day.

The Blessing of a Home at Epiphany. Father Dexter will be available on Epiphany to bless your homes if you live in the local area and provide blessed chalk to others who live outside our immediate area. “Chalking the door,” as it is known, is seen as invoking Christ’s blessing not only on the physical house but on the people who live there and those who visit. There is a long tradition of blessing homes, especially on the Epiphany, which falls on Jan. 6 each year. Europeans have chalked their doors as part of Epiphany house blessings for centuries. Traditionally, the chalking is done above the lintel and takes this form: 20+C+M+B+22 - The letters are the abbreviation for the Latin phrase "Christus mansionem benedicat" - "Christ bless this house. The + signs represent the cross, and 20-22 is the year. Please contact Fr. Dexter by January 4th if you would either like your home blessed or receive blessed chalk.
